Release No. 36: a 55 Year Old Tomintoul Single Mal

Release No. 36: a 55 Year Old Tomintoul Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the third bottling of our 2024 Collection, and is a delightful and surprising combination of very old whisky from a very young distillery. The Tomintoul Distillery was commissioned in 1964, and this whisky was filled into four hogsheads and two butts in November 1968.

For such an old whisky, it has a surprisingly lively, fruity and bright taste: The Last Drop Distillers’ Master Blender @scotchwhiskycolin describes it as “an explosion of ripe fruits, and richly caramelised apples. A dance of spices and herbs tingles on the tongue, with buttery notes of sticky toffee pudding coming to the fore.”

Today - 20th June - is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, as well as the official start of summer. To celebrate, whatever the weather, we’ll be pouring a small glass of our beautiful Infinitum Rum, Release No 35. But what else happened on this day in years gone by?

1214: The University of Oxford receives its charter.
1837: Queen Victoria ascends the British throne aged 18.
1887: Buffalo Bill Cody stages a special Royal Command Performance of his famous Wild West Show, during Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.
1966: British pilot Sheila Scott completes the first round-the-world solo flight by a woman.

And on the 20th of June in 2000, the year our infinitum Rum was being created from hundreds of different samples, the UK’s #1 song was ‘You See The Trouble With Me’ by singer J Reverse and Italian DJs Black Legend.

Release No. 36 is in The Mayfair Times'. Our 55 Year Old Tomintoul Single Malt Whisky was included in the London-based luxury lifestyle magazines's June issue by Editor Alice Cairns in its 'Wish List' section. Described as 'rich and complex', this beautiful, ultra-aged single malt can be purchased at Mayfair's very own Hedonism Wines on Davies Street.
This isn't the first time we've had the pleasure of working with @mayfair.times’ team: Deputy Editor @moffittelli is a lover of all-things whiskey and was recently at guest at our 15th Anniversary celebration and 2024 Collection launch at the Thames Penthouse at @fstentrinity.

This Father’s Day, we remember Tom Jago, co-foun

Today, on the occasion of His Majesty King Charles

Today, on the occasion of His Majesty King Charles III’s Official Birthday, we take a look at artist @markevans.studio’s incredible portrait of King Charles. Based on the iconic photograph by Nadav Kander, which hangs in the @nationalportraitgallery in London, Mark has recreated this image in the medium of leather: a painstaking process which has resulted in a portrait full of texture. The portrait was auctioned for charity at our recent 15th Anniversary celebrations held at Maison Estelle.

The auction raised nearly £170,000 to benefit two charities: @just_a_drop and @bigchangecharity.

“I had a particular vision for a unique portrait that would become something lasting, multi-generational and jaw-dropping. I wanted to hand carve a portrait that would tell a story, convey a moment in time, and be quite simply beautiful.” – Mark Evans
