DREW MAYVILLE
Drew Mayville has spent more than 40 years working across every technical and creative aspect of spirits production. He joined Sazerac in 2004 as Master Blender and Director of Quality at Buffalo Trace Distillery, following nearly 23 years at Seagram’s, where his career spanned distilling, blending, quality, bottling, packaging, and technical services across North America. Drew was the last Master Blender to serve under the Seagram dynasty.
Drew is a Senior Member of the American Society for Quality and has been a certified ASQ Quality Engineer since 1987. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo, Canada.
At Sazerac, Drew has been directly involved in the development and oversight of many of the company’s most respected whiskies and spirits, combining deep technical discipline with a practical, hands-on approach to blending.
Colin Scotts Signature Blend Scotch Whisky
Drew’s signature contribution to The Last Drop is his Signature Blend, Release No. 28, a unique and irreproducible Kentucky Straight Whiskey blend created from rare vintage stocks. To bring his vision to life, Drew drew on whiskies he had been quietly saving since joining the Buffalo Trace Distillery team, tasting more than 40 vintage bourbons and straight ryes before refining the final composition. Bottled at 121.4 proof, uncut and unfiltered, this high-strength blend was intentionally left untouched to preserve its full flavour, depth, and complexity – a true expression of Drew’s judgement and craft.
