40 YEAR OLD BLENDED SCOTCH WHISKY ANNIVERSARY RELEASE

845 Bottles
/
40 Years Old
Blended Scotch Whisky

THE LAST DROP DISTILLERS celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2023. Founded in 2008 by James Espey OBE and Tom Jago, TLDD is marking this milestone with the release of a limited bottling of a unique 40 year old Blended Scotch Whisky created for the occasion by our Master Blender, Colin JP Scott.

This whisky is a shining example of why we hunt so tirelessly for the greatthe astonishing, of why merely ‘good’ is not good enough. Some of the grain whisky in this blend was distilled at the North of Scotland distillery, the smallest grain distillery in Scotland which sadly closed in 1980. In its day, North of Scotland was thought to be one of the more flavoursome grain whiskies around.

ABV : 47.1%

“I’m a man of simple tastes. I’m always satisfied with the best.”

MORE ABOUT THIS RELEASE

TASTING NOTES

COLIN SCOTT’S TASTING NOTES

APPEARANCE: Rich amber

NOSE: A rich fruitiness of apricots, pears and apples is enhanced with the sweetness of honey, and soft notes of dates, prunes and vanilla, from the ex-bourbon casks in which it was finished. A gentle floral fragrance and hints of toast and honey.

PALATE: Rounded and smooth, there is a complexity of dried apricots and figs, with almond essence. The florality on the nose develops into a subtle sweetness of spring flowers, candy and vanilla ice cream.

FINISH: A delightful and complex finish of fruit, vanilla and liquorice, lingering notes of coffee and chocolate stay on the palate for an age.
