This 60-year-old Single Grain Scotch Whisky is a true treasure — a liquid time capsule from a distillery whose doors have long since closed. Distilled at a pivotal moment in its history, it captures the essence of a bygone era; the year following its distillation, Carsebridge ceased operating under independent ownership, and within two decades, it had closed for the final time.
In this exceptionally limited bottling, the whisky reveals its full potential as an elegant and complex spirit shaped by six decades of patient maturation. Time has transformed its youthful brightness into layers of decadent richness, gentle spice and refined oaky sweetness — a testament both to the skill of the original distillers and to the foresight of those who laid this cask down.
The Last Drop is delighted to present this remarkable 60-year-old Single Grain Scotch Whisky from Carsebridge Distillery, drawn from cask No. 160237 and laid down in November 1965. Grain whiskies of such extraordinary age are exceptionally rare, and this release stands as a masterful expression of their natural sweetness, charm and enduring complexity.
“Carsebridge Distillery’s journey is steeped in ambition, elegance, and the grandeur of Scotch whisky’s golden age, now held like a time capsule in a decadently delicious bottle of whisky.”
APPEARANCE: A deep amber hue, reflecting six decades of patient maturation in a single ex-bourbon cask.
PALATE: Wonderfully smooth and rounded, with hints of toasted almonds and crème brûlée, evolving into a delicately fruity, oak-spiced palate with a gentle peppery tingle.
NOSE: Decadent notes of toffee and baking spices greet the senses, followed by layers of sweet fruit and warming clove.
